This long-term, temporary position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with students who have diverse learning requirements, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Learning Activities: Assist in delivering tailored educational programs designed by the classroom teacher. Work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more.
- Foster Development: Support students’ social and emotional development, promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Work with pupils who have EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and other specific learning needs.
- Assist with Behaviour Management: Collaborate with teaching staff to manage challenging behavior and ensure a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
- Adapt Teaching Materials: Modify and adapt resources to meet the individual needs of students, helping them to engage with the curriculum effectively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is essential. Experience with conditions such as ASD, BESD, MLD, and SLD is highly desirable.
- Skills and Attributes: Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- Educational Background: A relevant qualification in education or special educational needs is beneficial but not mandatory. Passion and dedication to working in special education are the primary requirements.
